It Is Well With My Soul

Image MapThe lyrics of that old hymn never really stuck with me, until I finally LISTENED to the words and discovered the meaning behind the hymn.
 
When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say,
It is well, it is well with my soul.
 
A little bit of history for ya'll:
 
The story behind this song is that it was written about a man who lost his entire family in a storm at sea. His heart is broken, everything is gone, yet he is still saying, "It is well with my soul."
 
Regardless of the struggles and triumphs we face each and every day, it's a blessing knowing that "it is well with my soul."
 
This, then, brought to mind all the little things I hope for each and every person in my life.
 
 I hope your days are filled with smiles.
 
 I hope that whatever your struggles may be, that you can learn something from it. And grow.
 
I hope that your coffee is just right in the mornings.
 
I hope those sunglasses you're wearing make you feel like a star.
 
I hope your co-workers/classmates teach you something new today. And every day.
 
Most importantly, I hope all is well with your soul.
 
What are some things you wish for each and every day?
 
I know some days, I'm just wishing for that 5:00 hour to strike but nevertheless, I'm a happy girl!

    Love this song. I'm big on church hymns although I do wish my church had the guts to use praise and worship songs. but anyways...love this. Hope you have a great rest of the week. We are almost there to the weekend.
