Pardon the Interruption, Folks + Giveaway

So in a matter of 2 weeks of being engaged, we have nailed down the following things for the wedding:
  • wedding venue
  • reception venue
  • wedding photographer
  • engagement photographer
  • cake/cupcakes
  • tailor for my wedding dress
Our wedding isn't until October of this year. Uhm, can I get an amen and a hallelujah?? It really helps to have high friends in low places... Or just friends at all. Perks of living in a small town!

A little bit about the venues:

Our wedding will take place in our baptist church home and will be pastored by our very good friend (and youth leader) of the church. The church is so beautiful as is, so the decor will be very minimal, if anything.

Our reception venue is being held at a privately owned tobacco barn. Some history for you history buffs... Gadsden County in Florida was notorious for it's tobacco and the Coca-Cola stock. Way back in the day, tobacco farms were the staple and means of life for many families. Today, driving through beautiful rural Gadsden County, you may see quite a few tobacco barns still standing. If you ever have the opportunity to step into one, they're magnificently huge! Plus, they each hold so much history.

The tobacco farm we're renting is loaded in rustic, country, vintage decor. Think southern and you've got an idea on decorations! I'm talking cotton, wooden crates, old plow, old Coca-Cola bottles and flats, mason jars hanging, old lanterns, hay bales, knick knacks and treasures for days. It's exactly what we wanted!

What's even better? I get the entire barn for a week to decorate, change my mind, redecorate, and change my mind some more. The family has another huge tobacco barn full of "stuff" that we can use to decorate however we see fit. God has blessed us with bringing this family into our lives... and their barn!

Words just don't do the place justice so time for some picture overload, ya'll. Enjoy!!

**Note: My future 15 year old sister-in-law took these photos so the odd angles are her trying to capture all the details through a 15 year old's eyes :)

Me, Hunter, and my future MIL standing in awe of the bar - don't judge us.

"Rock me mama like a wagon wheel, rock me mama any way you feel..."

This is a piece of wood with holes carved into it for flowers to be placed in it- awesome!

Hunter especially loved the deer mounts and sheds on the walls... #countryfolkprobs
